Volbeat Frontman Michael Poulsen’s Mobile Phone Is Full of Musical Ideas for Next Album

Volbeat is busy touring to promote Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, but that hasn’t stopped the guys from writing new material.  Frontman Michael Poulsen says he definitely has one new track ready to go. Still, he doesn’t plan on recording anything for a few months.

“I actually only have one brand-new song which could be done in a few days if I sit down and just work with it,” he tells ABC News Radio. “I know that early next year, that’s when I’m gonna pick up the guitar again and start concentrating on writing new songs.”

The singer says he’s been recording ideas into his cell phone for quite a while now, noting he may harvest some of the good ones for the band’s next release. “I probably have ideas for six or seven songs, but that doesn’t mean they're gonna turn into songs,” he explains. “ I still need to work on them, but that’s material that I have, you know, had on the mobile [phone] for a long time which just didn’t make it on some of the other albums or I just couldn’t really finish.” (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)
