Independence Day is almost here, and we want to help you find the best places to celebrate, whether you want to march in a parade or just gaze at some fireworks.
Here are the places to catch the fireworks:
Camarillo: Fireworks and family fun at Camarillo High School.
Ojai: Fireworks at Nordhoff High School. There is a 4th of July parade in Downtown Ojai at 10 am.
Oxnard: Fireworks at Channel Islands Harbor, as well as live music and vendors all weekend to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the harbor.
Newbury Park: The Independence Day 5K/10K & Car Show is an annual fundraiser benefitting the Miller Family YMCA which serves 6,000 Newbury Park and Conejo Valley residents yearly. There is even a pancake breakfast.
Simi Valley: 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park. There is also the Annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
Thousand Oaks: Fireworks best viewed from The Oaks Mall and Janss Marketplace parking lots. Free Concert in the Park from the Conejo Pops Orchestra at 5 PM.
Ventura: Fireworks at Ventura College as well as the “friendliest hometown picnic in America.” There is also the 40th annual 4th of July Street Fair. On Sunday, The Museum of Ventura County is hosting a patriotic-themed craft day and letting kids write postcards to veterans as part of its Free First Sundays.
Westlake Village: Fireworks and celebration at the Westlake Golf Course.
