The Pixies have found a replacement for bassist Kim Shattuck, who left the group earlier this month. The band has announced that Paz Lenchantin, who previously played with A Perfect Circle, ZWAN and The Entrance Band, will take Shattuck’s place in the lineup.
“We are really looking forward to playing with her,” says drummer David Lovering in a statement. “Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we’re having a great time doing it.”
In other Pixies news, the band has unveiled a new a video for “Another Toe in the Ocean,” a cut off their recently-released EP, EP-1. The four-minute animated clip focuses on the misadventures of frontmanBlack Francis as he runs a marathon, dodges falling bombs and avoids getting eaten by a whale.
