How many times did you use the Shazam app on your phone to figure out what song was playing this year? A lot, right? So it’s no surprise that popular tracks from Daft Punk, Lorde and Imagine Dragonsmade the company’s top ten list of the most "Shazamed" songs of 2013.
Daft Punk’s smash hit “Get Lucky” was tagged 11.1 million times worldwide, the most of any rock act, but was only tagged 3.2 million times in the U.S. Lorde’s “Royals” doesn’t trail too far behind: it was tagged 9.4 million times worldwide and in the U.S. it bested "Get Lucky" with 5.1 million tags. Imagine Dragons also made the list with their hit “Radioactive,” which was tagged 3.2 million times in the U.S.
In addition, all three artists showed up on the top ten list of the world's most Shazamed artists. On the worldwide tally, Daft Punk got the #7 slot with 14.3 million tags, with Imagine Dragons just behind them at #8 with 14.2 million. Lorde completes the list residing at #10 with 10.5 million tags. In the U.S., Imagine Dragons scored the highest of any rock act, snagging the #4 spot on the tally with 6.5 million tags, while Lorde came in at #8 with 5.4 million.
