John Mellencamp is among the stars lined up to perform at the NASCAR Sprint Series Cup Awards this Friday, December 6, at the Wynn Las Vegas. Mellencamp's performance will kick off the event, which will airs on Fox Sports 2 and NASCAR.com starting at 9 p.m. ET that night.
Additional coverage will be viewable on the Motor Racing Network beginning an hour earlier. Pop starSara Bareilles and country singer Dierks Bentley also are slated to perform on the show, which will be hosted by comedian/actor Jay Mohr.
This year's NASCAR Spring Series Cup Awards will honor six-time champion Jimmie Johnson, as well as the remaining 10 drivers in the hunt for a position in the final NASCAR Sprint Cup standings.
An encore screening of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards will air on the Fox Sports 1 on Sunday, December 8, at noon ET. Mellencamp currently has no other confirmed performances on his schedule.
