New U2 Album Coming in April 2014

This is the moment U2 fans have been waiting for. The band has just revealed to Billboard they’re planning to drop their thirteenth studio album sometime in April.

The publication adds the group is currently “shopping for brand partners” so they can announce details about the release in a commercial, which will air during the Super Bowl.  Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton, who was spotted with the band at New York's Electric Lady Studios back in June, has been named to produce the release.

While we wait for info on the new album, we’ll be able to get our hands on some new music from U2 for this year's Black Friday Record Store Day. On November 29, the band will drop a limited-edition 10-inch vinyl record that features two new cuts: "Ordinary Love" and "Breath."  You may remember that "Ordinary Love" was written for the soundtrack of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, an upcoming biopic about former South African leader Nelson Mandela, and was recently featured in a trailer for the film.
